Hippies can kindly drop the idea of visiting India. You are not welcome. Feel free to discuss it with our police if you beg to differ…you know what I'm on about.

I was in that world in Berkeley, the "Haight", Arcata, Santa Cruz, etc. in the 60s.  Eventually found that there was extreme pressure to do what EVERYBODY else did and  to wear the Hippie UNIFORM. Really more rigid than the regular world.  Now I'm so happy to avoid such places entirely.  Less individuality than in the military.  More power to ya….

You missed Santa Cruz and Eureka California and included over-priced Vancouver BC filled with millionaire Chinese expats? What kind of jacked up list is this?

You missed Pahoa, on the Big Island. Flashback kingdom! Painted VW microbuses, Hemp trinket stores, Akebono Theatre, 19 year old boys with shoulder length hair and walking sticks.

You forget to mention Byron Bay! Its well known tourist hippy capital in southern hemisphere. I know Nimbin has been mentioned which is only down the road but Byron Bay is incredibly over the moon. Nimbin is very 70s, truly still have hip vibes. Byron Bay might has changed due to backpacker tourism but the happiness and vibes still there.
