I'm from Amarillo and Dalhart may not have a big population but millions of people drive through the town on their way to New Mexico and Colorado. The video doesn't look anything like it. It is on the plains, flat and no trees or rivers.

If you think driving 40 miles to the nearest Walmart is bad we lived in Van Horn and drove 120 miles each way once a month to buy groceries in El Paso, out there mileage is not a bid deal and driving on the school bus 100 miles each way for a high school foot ball game is normal.

Thomasville Missouri. In between Alton Missouri and west plains Missouri. I think population just under 100 but meets a lot of your requirements. Beautiful near eleven point river. Definitely worth checking out if you're able to just goto these places.
