Utah is hands down the best place to ski! I've lived in Salt Lake City for 10 years and there are 7 different ski resorts within 25 minutes of my home! And 11 different ski resorts within a 90 minute drive!!

Targhee should be at least like 5th, the snow we get here isn’t quite as plentiful as alyeska, but it’s so soft and fluffy. The terrain is great as well, really compliments the snow fall. The beginner area is also great for new riders, I have fun cruising in there with my family sometimes. Gotta convince my dad and sister to take the hike to marry’s nip still, I’ve been up there once and it was totally worth the snow, completely untouched for nearly the whole run

It's so obvious that an American made this list. Most Americans have never left their country, let alone their state. Whistler is the best in N. America and there's a dozen other resorts in western Canada that beat most on this list.

Alyeska is a different breed from the rest of these listed. Yes, it is very intense and almost all of it is intermediate and advanced skiing, but there are only four chairlifts, a tram, and rather limited numbers of runs and the place does not attract tourists like the rest of these. Until last week when I took a trip to Utah, this and a local bunny hill in Anchorage are the only places I have ever skied in my 8 years of it
